Background

Baskin-Robbins was founded by Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins in 1945 at Glendale, California. Currently headquartered in Canton, Mass., Baskin-Robbins is part of the Dunkin' Brands Group, Inc. family of companies. With the determination and passion in creating more than 1,000 ice cream flavors and a wide variety of delicious treats, Baskin-Robbins has grown tremendously since then. There are now over 100 Baskin-Robbins ice cream stores all across Malaysia such as Penang, Selangor, Melaka, and Johor. Malaysians of all ages now get to experience the joy and happiness of eating ice cream all thanks to Baskin-Robbins.

Challenges Before Odoo Implementation

Baskin-Robbins is a huge company that has a large pool of data and countless business processes. Previously, the company has implemented a locally installed Point of Sales (POS) system to assist them in their frontend retail businesses. However, without Odoo ERP system, it is still challenging for Baskin-Robbins to improve its efficiency and customer satisfaction due to the time consuming and painful manual business processes.

The procurement team had to spend a lot of time identifying and sorting documents before routing them to the appropriate personel for approval.   • Inventory management has always been one of the most challenging process in the retail sector. The decentralised inventory management system that Baskin-Robbins implemented failed to provide full visibility on the inventory level of outlets.
